Anything that you flash to your kind in less than a second can behave as a flash cards. ✅Size of flashcards? The smaller the baby the bigger the size of the card. ✅Types of flashcards Word Math (dot) Picture cards ✅Inventor of Flash cards? Glen doman from USA ✅How else are explaining this concept ? Henguru and Shichida From Japan ✅From where can you buy Flash cards ? Hungry brains. Hemali Gada founder of Hungry Brain ✅When to start 0-7 years yes ,but till 14 years is possible too ✅Whats this flash cards all about. To all those parents who are by now nervous that they have missed on something. Please RELAX. Flash cards concept is that its easier to explain a whole word to baby then A,B,C. Example Right brain needs "How" ,"where","when" meaning can you explain whats "A" ? HOW ,WHERE, WHEN its formed ? No, But you can tell about an APPLE . Where ,how,when it was formed or bought. ✅So in flash cards we try to develop photographic memory of the RB as well the Language Development happens because we are giving input to a babies mind that ok an apple exists and even we can show them an apple ,a dog,an aeroplane ,a cat . Everything. ✅Even for dot cards you can show 1 quantity, as 1 number ,2 objects as 2 number and so on but you can never explain whats A,B,C. Or show them . So its like we have all mugged up A,b,c hahaha all our life and not imagined through our right brains at all hahaha. Coming back to topic : ✅When you show flash cards the words start with small letter "apple " not " "Apple" because Glenn wanted babies to understand that when you read book the in-between words are never in Capital they are small letter words. ✅So the idea behind showing flash cards is that the baby should get the whole 3D information of the language that you are speaking,reading writing. ✅There exists an apple ,aligator, aeroplane, awesome person ,thing but the letter A doesn't exists. ✅Also in phonics means education of sound Letter A is explained as Aa , B as Ba ,C as ka, so aa forms apple ,ba forms bat ball ,c forms cat,cow but it cant be pronounced as A,B,C the way we do . So phonics is breaking these to the most most smaller sound of any letter that exists in words. ✅Coming to the point. A human brain can perceive apple better than A , because you can tell where is an apple , how it is ,how it tasted ,how it feels and where is brought from but you cant explain A . ✅So Right brain is like an artist he needs all information to let it visualise where as left brain will get this information from right brain and keep its analysis on,and remember the words and letters in picture form in the brain. ✅Flash cards not just help Right brain but the entire mental development. No harm to train it . ✅Is it really working ? This was researched back in 1960 and many such research have happened in Japan too. ✅How many cards to show to a baby ? These inventors I explained above say a specific number is good to start they don't mean only that number is perfect. Their idea is to evoke super brain and activate the intutive power of a baby. So how can it be achieved if we only show a specific number of cards ? Their idea is take a baseline of the number of cards they are explaining to show to your baby but follow your babies heart. ✅Initially when I was not aware of Flashcards concept Glenn doman way. I only had word cards so since 6th month of my Pregnancy I started showing and speaking out loudly to my tummy all word cards I have 50 word cards. After my baby was born ,post 1 week was gone I started showing him same cards near his eyes not too fast but slowly but not very slowly. Then his tiny eyes 1 week old used to show some signs so I got confidence this works and for two months I continued that. 50 word cards daily. Then when he was 2months I got hungry brain 6 cards set each of 24 picture cards then I started showing 3 set + word cards till he was 6 months atleast 5 days a week or sometimes only 1 set a day. ✅I never followed a fixed one card retire or introduce new , as Glenn n Schida n hengru says I went with my babies hunger for these flash cards . Till he was 7 months he shown all excitement for flash cards. ✅Now he is 9 month , since his 8 month he is so mobile that flash cards session is extremely quick only 1 set of picture cards and 1 set of 5 word cards . Sometimes its 7 words a day or 70 picture cards of 20 picture cards . Its different daily. ✅Glenn says you should stop before the baby gets bore and once they are 6+ months plus your flash cards session will automatically reduce because the baby has the world to explore. ✅So relax momma older babies 5+ will see only 2 flash cards a day one word n one picture .its ok !!!! Atleast you are showing n they are absorbing. ✅I introduced math dotscards now when he completed 8 months. He is excited to see the dots. ✅Should you buy or maje flash cards at home? ✅My say is first have a library from hungry brain n someone who gives cheaper dot cards n word cards ✅So my flash cards library is 6 set of 24 picture cards from hungry brains 1 set of dot cards 1-20 and +,-,/,= 50 word cards ✅Then now m thinking to print words cards , picture cards as per my choice . ✅I think if i didn't have flashcards from Hungry brains my journey would have been different. ✅So don't try to make home cards immediately first see the magic of flash cards in your Babys eyes then once you have mastered the flash card concept then you draw or print it out. So first 6 months use the paid flash cards then may be you can print as many flashcards you want. ✅Important thing is your Babys excitement , eye contact , your affection to your baby is important. ✅My Personal take on flashcards is I dont know Exactly what miracle this baby of mine will achieve in his life post m introducing these RBE Activies, it has given me immense planned structured way to love my baby unconditionally , I have created a bond with my baby . I see when I dont do flash cards or RBE Activies in particular with him ,he is bored. He looks forward to me not just because I breast feed him ,because he has by now understood that my hunger for learning is definitely satisfied with this Lady who always has some Activity scheduled for me. ✅He really looks forward to me not just because m a mom ,because m his Life's first teacher in all real sense :) Such a fullfilling post.
